Dawn M. Aerts is a features writer/photographer and watercolor artist who lives along Many Penny St. in Bayfield, WI. In the winter she calls Rodeo, N.M. home and her studio work includes a variety of mediums (pen, pastel, acrylics and watercolor). Her paintings are mostly whimsical in nature, using the magical effects of color and imagination. She is also the author and illustrator of “Felicette, the Cat Who Touched the Moon.” This true story, (with a touch of fiction), will amuse and inspire young children as the story unfolds in illustration of a homeless cat living on the streets of Paris. But the Astro-cat, with the ‘right stuff’ accomplished ‘big things’ for the French Space Program in 1963. “I don’t think we fully appreciate the inspiration we can find among our little pets from childhood. Yes, they will always be part of our memory…As an artist, they emerge as a lovely story.”
